What we collect, why, and how to make us stop.

CruiseCrew is a mobile app for discovering and RSVPing to car cruises, shows, and meets. This policy explains what personal data the app collects, why, how it's stored, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum data required to make the app work — no advertising trackers, no data sold to third parties.
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and a display name from the identity provider. We store these to identify you across sessions and to display your name on events you host and RSVPs you make.
Events you post, RSVPs you make, crews you create or join, and events you save are stored in our database so you (and, where applicable, other users) can see them. Public events are visible to all users; crew membership is visible only to other members of the same crew.
The app requests approximate location to center the discovery map where you actually are. You can decline this permission and set a location manually in the filter sheet instead. Location is used only within the app to filter events; it is not stored on our servers, transmitted to third parties for advertising, or shared with other users.
If you enable notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging generates a device-specific token. We store the token to send you notifications about events you're going to, moderation actions on content you posted, and crew activity involving you.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used and to detect crashes. The data is aggregated and anonymized — we cannot identify individual users from Analytics events. You can disable Analytics collection in the app under Profile → Privacy.
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Analytics). Google is our data processor and complies with its own privacy policy and applicable laws.
When you use the app's smart-import feature to extract event details from a URL or photo, the content you provide is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for extraction. Anthropic does not retain the content for training and processes it as a sub-processor of CruiseCrew. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details on their handling.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics beyond Firebase Analytics.
Account and content data are retained as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile, RSVPs, saved events, and crew memberships. Events you hosted remain visible but are re-attributed to "removed user" so other RSVPed attendees are not left with orphaned entries.
Push notification tokens are deleted when you disable notifications or uninstall the app.
Analytics events are retained per Firebase Analytics defaults — see Google's documentation.
You can, at any time:
To request deletion of data that isn't accessible via the in-app controls (e.g., support conversations), email support@cruisecrew.app.
CruiseCrew is intended for users aged 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support and we will delete the account and its data.
We may update this policy over time. Material changes will be announced in the app and via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
